July 14th, 2008 3:37 PM

The Naples Daily News reported that there were 716 foreclosures filed in June of 2008.  Since January 1st - June 30th 2008 there have been a total of 3,827 foreclosures filed.  This tops the whole of 2007's record of 3,266 foreclosures filed with the County.

In another article, The Naples Daily News reported that Collier County's property values decreased a bit lower than expected.  This decrease could mean lower taxes for property owners.

This last week I have seen a decrease in showings on my listings.  I was expecting showings to increase over the 4th of July weekend, however I was disappointed.  Maybe visitos were too busy enjoying the beach.

July and August usually finds Naples welcoming our European visitors.  With the Euro being so strong, now may be the time for these visitors to make a decision to purchase.

The May 2008 Florida Sales Report for Existing Single Family Homes and Existing Condominiums show that the median sale prices have decreased.  Please keep in mind that these statistics include the figures from the Naples Board of Realtors but there is no line item for Naples on these reports.

Right now is a great time to own a home in Naples.  There are many good buys here just waiting for the savvy buyer.
