Planning to spend the 4th of July at a beach in Naples, FL? Collier County commissioners recently were considering charging county residents up to $75.00 for beach parking permits. I am happy to report that this was removed from budget talks this week.
If you are vacationing in the State of Florida this week be aware that Florida just passed a new law which allows police officers to pull over any vehicle if the driver or front seat passenger is not wearing a seat belt. Seat belt violations will cost you $98.00 in Collier County, so buckle up!

The Florida Association of Realtors recently published the statistics for May 2009 for existing Single Family Homes and Condos. The good news is that the number of closed sales is up in both categories. The bad news is that the median sale prices are still down.
Everyone keeps asking me if I think the Naples market has hit bottom yet. I book marked an interesting article on hitting bottom If you read this article, I can't see where Naples has any of these factors. What I CAN say is that within the past three weeks I have seen more activity on my listings and I have had offers come in on two of my listings. One contract has gotten together, I'm still negotiating the other contract. The crystal ball on my desk tells me that Naples still has a bit to go before it hits bottom.
Savvy buyers are realizing that if they wait until the market hits bottom, the interest rates may rise negating any savings. If you are still waiting for the market to "bottom out" you may want to rethink your strategy.
My husband and I will be hosts to numerous company over the next few weeks. Remember, "If you buy a place in Naples, company WILL come."
Adam, my 20 year old nephew, will be traveling from Chicago land to Naples on July 13th to start working for me for the summer. He'll be able to free me from a number of clerical duties that will enable me to work on some other items. I am looking forward to the help.
My brother, Patrick, who just purchased a condo in Turtle Lakes Golf Colony will be arriving on July 11th. This will be the first time he will have seen the condo outside of the photos he saw before he purchased it. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am for him to FINALLY see his new place!
